Birthday Boys and the Zoo

   My twins turned 10 on September 11th!  I can't believe they are ten and that it's been ten years since our country was attacked.  I remember both so clearly.  As I laid in the hospital that morning waiting to meet my new babies.  The tv left me, the family, and some nurses and doctors in awe as we watched the news that morning.  Before I could get the words out, "that another plane was coming", it had already made impact into the other tower.  My doctor finally came to the room and made the decision that it was time to meet our precious boys.  My emotions quickly switched to fear of my first c-section (now I have had 4, so I am a pro. lol) to excitement of meeting them and then concern on what was happening to my country.  The excitement totally won as I longed to meet them.  I had been hospitalized at 30 weeks, due to the onset of labor and had to spend the next 6 weeks on the couch.  Waiting and waiting and waiting....  Thankfully I have an amazing family and friends that took care of me and  Bailey, she was only 10 months at the time.  We also have a great church that provided meals every night for those 6 weeks and an extra 3 after they were born. They were so tiny and perfect.  Collin who was born first at 11:16am (5lbs 9oz) and then Cameron at 11:18 (6lbs 10oz).  They are so big now and will soon be towering over me, not that that is hard, but they are my babies you know ;P

They are absolutely best friends and yet so amazingly different.  I have been so privileged and intrigued  to watch twin their interaction and how at only a year old, Bailey squeezed right in as both little mama and yet still a baby herself. God has truly blessed me and I have never gone a day without being so thankful for all my kids.

 We also went to the zoo this week for a field trip.  My Mom was off work and was able to go with us. The kids and I were able to pet stingrays there. We also went in the Children's area and they were able to paint faces and play.  We met a really helpful and knowledgeable worker by the Giraffes. She shared a lot of interesting facts.  We had a good time.  

It's so hard to take a group picture, let alone when it's sunny.  Carter is trying to shade his eyes.

 Brayden really enjoyed watching the fish in the large aquariums.  He didn't want to take a picture.

They also painted faces.  Silly kids.

*School update:  We are doing great.  The curriculum I prayerfully chose this year, is working great.  Which hasn't always been the case. We have had to ditch some and move on to something new a few times. Mystery of History and Apologia Astronomy have been great to do as a large group. We have more field trips planned already. I can't wait.
